What is Pilates?

Pilates is beneficial for all ages regardless of age, body type, physical condition, or athletic ability. It's a unique, non-impact method of exercise that dramatically improves strength, flexibility, and posture.
The Pilates apparatuses are a system that was created to balance the body’s musculature by incorporating exercises that equally strengthen and stretch. Because Pilates initiates movement from the core and expands outward to the limbs, it becomes a whole-body workout in the safest and most effective way. The Pilates apparatus can either assist or resist the client depending on their physical condition.
During Pilates one will learn how to breathe properly, increasing circulation, energy, and vitality. The emphasis on coordination helps iIncrease body awareness and allows for better balance. The mind-body connection improves performance in all of life’s activities.
